"Francis Dolarhyde has something that Hannibal Lecter doesn’t, which is an inkling of humanity left, he’s trying to stop. Will sees Francis Dolarhyde as a version of Hannibal Lecter that he can actually save from himself."
Bryan Fuller, explaining just how he’s going to twist that knife even deeper this season [x] (via fuckinghannibal)
"Would Fuller be interested in a Hannibal musical? Fuller notes that Esparza can carry a tune. Abrams tries improvising a song about a horse uterus, while Esparza has lost his voice and the other panelists duck the invitation. “I would love to do a surreal musical number in Hannibal’s mind palace,” says Fuller. “I imagine him dancing like Christopher Walken in ‘Weapon of Choice.’” Esparza has personally witnessed Mikkelsen dance during downtime in filming: “The man can dance.”"
The atmosphere in Hannibal is totally unreal. Mads: It looks like a stage set. My office is designed like something from the 1920s with a library on the second floor. I wear outdated suits and the furniture is bizarre. The whole place yells ‘serial killer’ in your face, but this is the concept. Hannibal appeared decades ago and we know that he is a killer, a lover of classical music, probably gay. But as the story takes place before the books, the audience must understand that the cops, they do not know this. Hannibal was one of the first famous serial killers in fiction and we wanted to stay true to his character. [x]
